Five things I associate with you
Mar. 4th, 2009 10:00 pmThese are five things that
dqbunny associates with me and what I have to say about them. If you comment, I will give you five things, and then you can pass it on.
1. BPAL
I'm a very scent-oriented person. Actually, I'll bet a lot of you are -- doesn't the smell of fresh-baked bread or cookies in the oven make you think of home? Or a certain flower maybe reminds you of an occasion, or of your mom? Or the scent of a place reminds you of a vacation you took there? So I was casting about for a new hobby/fixation around fall of '07, and the aforementioned
dqbunny happened to post about BPAL, 'cause some of her friends had mentioned it, and I went and checked it out, and well, that was that. They have lots of awesome scents, many inspired by literature or mythology, and they're all-natural, no synthetic weirdness, and there's enough of a variety that they have something for everyone, from patchouli to cake. (Yes, I'm a total enabler -- I really like their stuff, what can I say.)
2. Newspapers
I'm glad I'm still employed. I'm also sad to see the industry in decline, 'cause we really do provide the best news coverage -- we don't do it in soundbites like on TV, and we don't do it partial like some outlets or bloggers or what have you. Plus, it's just not the same to read the comics without the crinkle of newsprint and the smell of ink.
3. Traveling
If I had a bajillion dollars, oh, the places I'd go. It seems so much more feasible to go on a vacation after last year, at least, after conquering my fear of flying, first with California and then with Tucson. Unfortunately, it's not exactly the smartest idea financially. I'm still kicking around the idea of maybe a small getaway somewhere this year. We'll see. How I'd love to go back to Europe someday and see some other countries ... and go back to California, too (and see the sea lions, arf arf!).
4. Great inner strength
Geez, really? Thanks. :) I guess I do have some strength I didn't always know I had, enough to pull myself through the hardest times and realize what I'm worth. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right?
5. Twitter
A good place to put all of the random little thoughts that aren't worth an LJ entry or even a Facebook status update ... even if almost nobody I know is on there.
