I might be feeling less motivated tonight than last night. This is no good. I've resorted to a random conversation to pad the word count a bit... part of me calls it useless fluff, but another part of it calls it "adding depth and dimension to the story."

I bought myself some treats tonight, 'cause with all of the overtime I've been putting it, I thought I deserved it. I got Green Day's American Idiot, which is pretty good. I haven't been able to actually listen for a plot yet, though -- I heard that it's supposed to be a rock-opera, which is pretty cool, 'cause they don't really make those so much anymore. Right now, it's NaNo background music. I'll probably rip it before I take it out tonight, so I can listen in the car, too, and maybe focus on the lyrics there.

I also got The Sims for PS2, 'cause I haven't bought a game in like a year and it was on sale. Already, it's fascinating, but it's also frustrating. For one, there don't seem to be enough minutes in the day for her to do everything, especially when her freakin' mom keeps leaving shit around the house. Not to mention that her mom is also nocturnal -- I kept trying to get my character on a normal schedule, but she can't sleep at night because Mom's up all night, constantly turning on the radio and the TV. I finally gave up and decided that I'm just gonna have to make her schedule match her mom's, or else she'll never get any sleep. The biggest thing that's still bugging me, though, is that every once in a while, she does this thing where she gets a thought-bubble and waves one arm in the air and sorta makes this "yoo-hoo"-like talking sound. I have a small TV, and I can't make out what the hell's in the bubble. I've looked down at her needs meters, and nothing she's low on seems to have any relation to whatever the hell her problem is. It's like she's yelling at me, "hey, dumbass, I need something," but I haven't a clue what that might be.

Gah. These words aren't writing themselves. I sure wish they were.

Sweet, this worked out pretty well...

The characters are in a British territory, so I decided to make them go get Indian food. And one of them has never had it before.

They say "write what you know," right? :)

Bush has sent thousands of Americans overseas to die in an unnecessary war against a foriegn leader who was no threat to us whatsoever, while siphoning resources from the war that was actually justified, the one against Osama bin Laden, the man who sent his agents to kill thousands of Americans on our own soil.

Bush has used the Patriot Act to chip away at our privacy rights.

Bush has pushed our economy further into the toilet by first giving us a tax cut we couldn't afford, sending us checks out of the surplus while the markets took a turn for the worse, then following that up with tax breaks for the wealthy and big corporations. The 9/11 attacks might've hurt our economy, but it was already headed downhill thanks to Bush's poor management, and his actions did little to improve the situation (notice that everyone's cheering today because "yay, we're back to where we were around 9/11!" Sure, we bounced back, 'cause that was bound to happen, but we're still in the shitter).

Bush wants to take away a woman's power over her own body by removing our right to choose whether or not we want to have a baby, even in cases where going forward would kill the mother. This would likely bring back the era of dangerous, back-alley, coathanger abortions.

Bush wants to keep gays and lesbians as second-class citizens, denying them the same rights that the rest of us have simply because of who they were created to love.

Bush wants to spend more of our federal tax dollars, our money, on "faith-based initiatives," which basically means that he wants to give state money to church agencies.

How can anybody in the right mind, anybody who's even a little bit informed, anybody who values the Constitution at all and the rights our Founding Fathers gave us after they won our freedom for us, how can any rational person think four more years of Bush is a good idea???
