Nov. 2nd, 2004 01:18 amI might be feeling less motivated tonight than last night. This is no good. I've resorted to a random conversation to pad the word count a bit... part of me calls it useless fluff, but another part of it calls it "adding depth and dimension to the story."
I bought myself some treats tonight, 'cause with all of the overtime I've been putting it, I thought I deserved it. I got Green Day's American Idiot, which is pretty good. I haven't been able to actually listen for a plot yet, though -- I heard that it's supposed to be a rock-opera, which is pretty cool, 'cause they don't really make those so much anymore. Right now, it's NaNo background music. I'll probably rip it before I take it out tonight, so I can listen in the car, too, and maybe focus on the lyrics there.
I also got The Sims for PS2, 'cause I haven't bought a game in like a year and it was on sale. Already, it's fascinating, but it's also frustrating. For one, there don't seem to be enough minutes in the day for her to do everything, especially when her freakin' mom keeps leaving shit around the house. Not to mention that her mom is also nocturnal -- I kept trying to get my character on a normal schedule, but she can't sleep at night because Mom's up all night, constantly turning on the radio and the TV. I finally gave up and decided that I'm just gonna have to make her schedule match her mom's, or else she'll never get any sleep. The biggest thing that's still bugging me, though, is that every once in a while, she does this thing where she gets a thought-bubble and waves one arm in the air and sorta makes this "yoo-hoo"-like talking sound. I have a small TV, and I can't make out what the hell's in the bubble. I've looked down at her needs meters, and nothing she's low on seems to have any relation to whatever the hell her problem is. It's like she's yelling at me, "hey, dumbass, I need something," but I haven't a clue what that might be.
Gah. These words aren't writing themselves. I sure wish they were.
