Candle coveting

Went out to dinner with Jess tonight, and she picked up the tab as an early birthday present. That was damned nice of her.

Then, we went to the mall, where I really, really wanted to buy some candles, but I somehow managed to restrain myself. I don't want to buy candles until I find the right ones, and these weren't quite them.

I should go to Pier 1. Well, no, I shouldn't, but I'd like to. Preferably tomorrow. But oh, wait, I have to work tomorrow. Dammit.

Why is Celebrity Poker Showdown a two-hour show now?

I mean, they do have a better host. (Dave Foley rocks.) And the added explanation of the game is good, as is the added banter.

But they need to edit. There are a lot of long pauses, for one thing. No matter what they cut, though, c'mon, I don't wanna watch poker for two hours. I wouldn't even want to play poker for two hours.
