I'm still sick. I might even take tomorrow off, 'cause I don't want to get everyone at work sick.
In the meantime, I'll do that thing that's going around, the write-about-20-friedns-without-their-names thing. I'm not too sure I actually have 20 to write about, or 20 I know enough about to write about, but we'll see.
1. You're always ready with a smile and a hug. You're a really talented poet who's still in the area, though I don't get to see you much. You put up with me and my problems with boundless patience -- and you also put up with the chalk I left all over the outside of what became your window. ;)
2. I will always be grateful for the good times we shared, on campus and on stage. I tried to teach you and help you, and I've learned a lot from you, too. You're really beautiful, especially when you let us dress you up like a lady. ;) You're far away now, but the distance can't separate us, 'cause family is forever. :)
3. I don't know you all that well, but you seem pretty cool from the one time we met and from your posts on here. You have way more energy and willpower than I do, I know that much -- you seem to be doing a great job of getting/keeping in shape.
4. You have an unhealthy fixation on gay love of the fictious sort, whether it be Clay Aiken and Ryan Seacrest or members of the Fab 5. You're still pretty cool, though, even if some of your "Clyan" posts verge on disturbing. :)
5. I still remember your Sagettes audition. We didn't know then that you were meant for the stage, just on your own terms. You're always there with a hug or helping hand, and your enthusiam is infectious.
6. Though you've recently shown that your taste isn't always good, you usually know a hottie when you see one. You're a really talented webmistress, and I'm sure you'll do well in life someday, even if it isn't on the path you thought you'd follow.
7. You have always been a supportive friend, even if you suck at keeping in touch -- and even if you did take me to a gay bar without at least warning me first. Who'd've thought that you'd be with a steady guy now, preparing for marriage? It really does all work out for the best sometimes, see? :)
8. I got so lucky with you -- you could've been anybody, anything, a total loser, but you turned out to be a really cool person with a dry wit that fit perfectly into the posse's mentality. You've been a great addition to the group, even though thinking about you sometimes makes me feel old. ;) You're actually nearby, and I swear I'm gonna get to see you sometime soon, 'cause I miss you.
9. I remember meeting you -- wasn't that the night somebody else in this list broke that chair in French House? I remember afterward, certainly, the giddy post-dinner silliness, wandering around campus, and you fit right into the mix. I can't go into Torrid without thinking of you, for sure. You're another person I need to see one of these days, 'cause I haven't seen you in forever.
10. I met you once, though you didn't remember me later, but I remembered you and your cute kid. You've got a lot of inner strength, and it's good to see you putting your foot down and not taking a certain person's shit anymore. You're also a talented artist.
Well, OK, I got to 10. The rest of you, sorry... I'm sick, cut me some slack.
