A survey, typed slowly and painfully
Aug. 2nd, 2003 11:51 pm1. If you had to choose an alias, what would it be?
Depends on what it's for.
2. Where were you on 9/11?
In bed -- it was my day off. I woke up around noonish when my mom came home for her lunch and woke me up... "two planes crashed into the World Trade Center in New York City and it collapsed... I guess it was attacked or something..." That was the beginning of two months of sheer insanity at work followed by a tapering off to the normal amount of insanity. I just remember watching the local news that afternoon as they showed huge lines of people wrapping around the Red Cross building in Colonie -- everyone wanted to help, but nobody knew what to do except give blood. This quickly led to the "how you can help" briefs, anchored on page 2 every day, listing blood drives, places to donate things, etc.
3. What is your ideal vacation?
Europe -- a few months in England, then Ireland, Scotland, France, Germany, and a brief swing through a few other countries, a huge, six-month-or-more trip.
4. How many first cousins do you have?
Three that I actually know, but I know there are a bunch on my dad's side whose names and relationships to me I don't actually know.
5. How do you take your pizza?
Extra cheesy with mushrooms and chicken, a la Uno's.
6. If you could be fluent in any foreign language (that you are not already) what would it be?
I already know some French, though I'm not "fluent," but I'd still have to go with German.
7. What is your favorite website?
You make me pick one? No way.
8. If you could experience another era of history, which would it be?
Maybe the Roaring 20s. *shrug*
9. What is your favorite genre of movies?
Comedy, though I like a little of everything except weepy movies-of-the-week.
10. If you could have any one superpower, what would it be?
Telepathy, hands down.
11. Can you whistle?
Nope.
12. If you could be any animal for a day, what would it be?
A lemur.
13. Who is your favorite fictional character?
Bugs Bunny.
14. Star Wars or Star Trek?
Star Trek -- I've actually never seen Star Wars, any of them. (Please don't hit me, I know, I grew up under a rock, whatever.)
15. What is your favorite beverage?
Iced tea, plain, just tea and ice, no lemon-sugar-crap.
16. What brand of toothpaste do you use?
Whatever my mom picked up last time I said "hey, can you pick me up some toothpaste?" I think it might be Crest, but I'm too lazy to walk across the room and check.
17. What is your favorite professional sports team?
The Yankees, followed by the Islanders and the Devils, then the Giants.
18. Are you "indoorsy" or "outdoorsy"?
Indoorsy.
19. What is your earliest childhood memory?
Probably getting yelled at for talking in kindergarten. She actually wrote my name on the board! I never forgave her.
20. If you could play any musical instrument, what would it be?
Piano -- I tried teaching myself a couple of times, but so far, no luck. I still have my keyboard, though, and I have a place planned to actually set it up once the remodel is done, so maybe I'll take another shot at it.
21. What's your favorite accent?
British, as long as it's not Cockney.
22. When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I didn't honestly know -- when people asked me, I never had an answer. I just wanted to do well in school and get into National Honor Society, that was as far ahead as I thought.
23. Are you a dog person or a cat person?
Are you kidding? Cats, obviously -- dogs suck.
24. If they were making a movie or TV show of your life, who would you choose to play you?
Who the hell would make a movie about my life? Um... honestly, I don't pay much attention to actresses, so I don't really have a name in mind. Somebody who could start off fat and ugly, but end up devistatingly beautiful with everyone in love with her (hey, it's my movie, I'm allowed to make up a fictional ending :-P).
25. What is your favorite element (earth, fire, water or air)?
Earth.
26. If you could compete in any event in the Olympics (summer or winter) what would it be?
If talent/athleticism were not an issue? Either rhythmic gymnastics (summer) or curling (winter.
27. What is your favorite Sunday comic strip?
Dilbert.
28. What kind of music do you listen to?
Lots of stuff, from rock/alternative to classical/jazz to electronica/techno/punk. Right now, I'm on a hard rock kick (Evanescence/Staind/Trapt/etc.).
29. What is your favorite breakfast cereal?
Cookie Crisp. :)
30. What is your worst habit?
Self-doubt.
31.---Lippy addition: Who would you be in The Wizard of Oz?
Glinda the Good Witch.
Depends on what it's for.
