May you live in interesting times
Dec. 2nd, 2007 10:33 pmI keep thinking of that Confucian curse/blessing. It feels more like a curse to me, most of the time. Here's the short, short version of what's new (and why the heck has Spaceballs been in my head so much lately, anyway?):
- Got a new headshot taken at work and snagged a copy so I'd have a new photo for Facebook that isn't obviously from the wrong season (much as I really like that beach photo ... that was the best vacation ever). I have a naturally non-smiling facial expression, so somehow, even though I was in a good mood and thought I was smiling, the picture makes me look totally disinterested. Ah, well.
- The holiday shopping is nearly done, huzzah. Got a few ideas for what's left to pick up. Waiting and hoping for a bonus check this year to help cover a few things.
- I have to get out tomorrow and drive. This blows, considering that it's supposed to be snowy and nasty and generally not fun for driving. But my mom's gonna be car-less and she needs to run an errand, and it has to be done tomorrow, so bleh.
- Watched "Emmet Otter" tonight, 'cause it ain't the holiday season without it. Now, I need a new seasonal CD for the car, 'cause the one from last year has stuff on it that I don't want to listen to now. Every year, I end up buying at least one new CD for this less-than-a-month-long music season, and every year, I feel like I need to get at least one new one, 'cause I get sick of the stuff I have or don't like it anymore.
- I got accepted into Intertel. Guess that makes me super-extra-double-mega-ultra-nerdy, huh? (If you don't know what it is and actually care, Google it, 'cause I don't feel like finding the link.)
- One week until cookie-making time. I need to find some good new recipes.
- Two weeks until my mini-vacay. I'm probably not doing anything, but I had days left to use and my mom's gonna be off, so maybe I can tag along on her last-minute shopping, or something. Even if I spend the extra days sitting around watching TV, at least it's not working, a nice change of pace (and I can hang out all day in my PJs, if I want).
- My hand smells like cinnamon and smoke. It's kind of a neat blend. Yeah, I'm all about the smellies these days. I still have a few more lined up here to try.
- Bulleted lists are so efficient, aren't they? :)
