Somehow, I managed to get done most of what I wanted to get done today. About the only thing I didn't do is go clothes shopping, and eh, no big deal there.
I did get to the grocery store to buy food, and then I cooked a couple of things: pesto chicken (decent) and curried chick pea salad (can't decide if it tastes good or like vomit... not a great sign). I also picked up quesadilla fixins, 'cause you can't go wrong with a quick quesadilla.
Meanwhile, I did my taxes, and the news was actually good. I was expecting to be ass-raped by the state, but somehow, after doing the stupid extra paperwork and everything (WTF's the deal with making us recopy our W-2s? Like that's not a nice opportunity for mistakes -- hell, I even screwed it up and had to do it over 'cause I wrote something on the wrong line), it was actually good news -- I'm getting a refund that's at least double what I got last year, somehow. I'm pretty psyched, 'cause while my federal refund always goes into the bank for practical purposes, my state refund is fun money, my end-of-fiscal-year reward. I'm thinking I might get a Nintendo DS. I mean, I'd probably be smarter if I just put it in the bank, but what the hell, right?
I watched parts of the Super Bowl. The commercials didn't seem all that great -- for the most part, the ones I caught were totally uninteresting, with the exception of that Ford one with Kermit in it. And I didn't win any money in the pool at work, but I didn't really expect to, 'cause I got shitty numbers. I did watch the halftime show, though -- I'm totally impressed that Mick Jagger can still shake his hips without shattering them.
