Tonight, Joe and I stopped at a K-mart (it was there, why not), and he bought me Play-Doh -- they had this two-pack of shimmery pretty colors (with a sculpted penguin on the label), and I thought it was neat, so he got it for me.

Here's something I didn't know: Play-Doh is cheap. I've never bought Play-Doh, but I think I was under the impression that it was reasonably pricey, 'cause it's a nice, name-brand toy product. Not so. The pack Joe got me was two regular-sized pots (not those little mini ones) for only a dollar. Good deal.

The smell of Play-Doh has got to be one of my favorite smells, too. All I had to do was open a pot and take a whiff, and I felt like a kid again (not to mention that I had a strange momentary urge to eat some -- I dunno, it just smelled tasty for a minute). Play-Doh is great stuff. I didn't mold it into anything yet, though, just squashed it around in my hand for a while, enjoying the texture and the smell. :)

Blergh.

Last night, life was good, things were fine, I was tired and a little achey but fine as I went to bed.

And then, I was full-on all-over sore all of a sudden, and freezing, and sweaty. I couldn't sleep for shit. Despite already having a good amount of blankets on, I got up at 4:30 a.m. and added on my heaviest blanket. I tossed, I turned, I ached, I shivered, and I couldn't breathe deeply enough for my breathing to slow enough for me to sleep. I dozed off in tiny doses, then got hot, cold, hot, cold... blergh. When the alarm went off this morning, I was a wreck, tired, still mostly unable to breathe, achey, awful, occasionally coughing this very deep, painful cough.

So I figured what the hell, I feel like ass, I'm in no shape to leave the house, and I have five sick days. I called in sick and crawled back in bed. The good thing about having a boss who has kids is that she doesn't give you crap when you call in sick -- I called, I told her I wasn't coming in, she said fine, go have some tea and go back to bed and get better. Good boss, yes.

I still feel a tad dizzy and achey now, and I still can't breathe all that well, though I'm better, about where I was before I went to bed last night. I'm about in the shape I was then at this point. I'm still a little tired, though... might go take another nap in a bit, after I shower (I know, lazy ass, and now I feel like a total skank). Definitely back to work tomorrow, unless I get a relapse overnight. I'm thinking maybe it was just a 24-hour fever, or something, though. Hope so, anyway.
