Green Day awesomeness

First, I got there really early, and I made line buddies, with all of us front-of-the-line folks. Among them were a nice couple of kids, Mike and Victoria, who have been traveling the northeast quadrant of the country, following the band and scoring floor tickets. (In fact, Mike got to go up and play guitar at one of the recent shows, he said.) It seemed like it was going to be all sadness for them, 'cause they couldn't find tickets -- but at the last possible minute, they managed to get in and find the rest of us up at the barricades.
Fast-forward to the show, when they're making as if to go into "Knowledge." But wait -- Billie Joe points to Mike and makes an announcement about how he's been at like every freakin' show, and here's a special dedication for him.
They played "2000 Light Years Away"!!!!!
Holy crap!
Mike was stunned speechless, too -- he was on the verge of tears, so amazed that Billie Joe would play an oldie like that and dedicate it to him. It was so freakin' cool.
(And if any of my front-of-the-line buddies are reading this, it was nice meeting you all, and thanks for having my back when that little blonde bitch kept trying to steal my spot.)
Also new this leg of the tour, they played "She" (and yes, Shannon, I thought of you, 'cause I know you like that song). Other than that, it was about the same as in Albany, though it was way cooler being thisclose to the guys -- I swear both Billie Joe and Mike looked me in the eye during the show. And damn, Billie Joe is way small, like small legs, small ass, everything. I never realized what a little guy he is. :)
