Wow, I'm a really shitty writer.

I mean, I've been staring at this poem on and off for a couple of hours. I still don't have a title for it. I'd intended to totally overhaul it at some point, but I can't figure out what to change or how to change it... it just sort of hangs together, defying me to hack at it.

I finally made headway on the poem. C'est fini. I even mounted it up all pretty, scrap-like. And I finally figured out the trick to using brads without ending up pissed off. It's all about the pilot holes, yo. :)

I didn't find a use for that pretty metal ribbon I have, though. Maybe I'll frame this and put some of that on the frame. Maybe.

Movie night

We rented movies tonight -- mom's knees were bugging her, so going to fireworks seemed like a bad idea.

I tell you, what you hear about movies can't always be trusted.

Movie 1: The Aviator. This movie looked like crap. What I'd gleaned from hearing about it was "movie about a rich weird guy and planes that has Leonardo DiCaprio in it." Yawn (and ick -- DiCaprio, never a good sign). However, the movie was actually really, really good, a story of a visionary, a man of some genius, and the fine line between that genius and insanity, compulsiveness and eccentricity. Two thumbs up, totally.

Movie 2: Napoleon Dynamite. I hadn't thought it looked good to begin with, but everyone I know loved it, it seems, and people are always quoting it like it's the funniest movie ever. So I gave it a shot -- and I had to force myself to finish the movie (thank goodness it's at least a short movie). It was just really, really boring for almost the whole thing -- maybe five minutes were actually entertaining, the rest of it just tedious.
