Tomato soup makes me tired
Feb. 1st, 2005 03:03 amGah. So tired.
The trainer guy came in today for the Slimdown. He was telling us how we should exercise four times a week for an hour, more if we can, and how we should do half cardio, half weight training. He was also telling us that if we don't have weights, we can use filled milk jugs or canned goods. And he showed us some arm exercised and said he'd bring in some books for us with other exercises we can do at home.
So okay, cardio. I don't have any exercise tapes. I don't have any machines. I can't go for a walk. But I do like music. Cardio's about keeping your heart rate up, right? Sure. So I put on a playlist of peppy music and spent a half-hour tonight "dancing" (regular dancing, plus some jumping around and other aerobic-y things to get my heart rate up a bit more). I kept moving for 32 solid minutes. Thought I was gonna collapse when I was done.
Then, I dug through the kitchen cupboard and found a 2-pound can of tomato soup. Okay, two pounds, I'm a wuss. But hey, I'm just starting out, and besides, we didn't have anything heavier. I probably should invest in some weights at some point, just a small set with 5, 10, 15, maybe 20, 25. Anyway, I got to work with the soup can. My arms kinda hurt now. It didn't actually take me a half-hour to run through the number of reps the trainer recommended, so perhaps I'll more in a bit.
This might actually be a good plan. They say you're not supposed to exercise before bed, but I'm pretty damned tired out at this point. Any adrenalin I had I think I burned off already.
