I've had Chinese for two days now. I love Chinese food. For one, it's tasty. For two, it's in walking distance from work. And for another, it's cheap -- less than ten bucks, and I can get two meals out of it. They have great pork-fried rice, with big chunks of pork all through it. Their sweet-and-sour chicken is pretty good, too. I usually get chicken and cashews, but I tried theirs and it sucks. There's another Chinese place that's actually a shorter walk, but it's also a bit more expensive (probably because their combos also include soup, which I never want, anyway), and the one block walk there is past all of the seedy bars. I have a hard enough time motivating myself to walk back there for the good pizza place, 'cause it's such a sketchy little block, the kind of place where you can easily imagine being pulled into an alley and mugged despite being only a block away from the nicer bars and businesses.

"Sydney's The Daily Telegraph compared Sydney's Scrooge-like approach with opulent Christmas displays in major capitals like London, New York and Paris." (story here)

*cues "one of these things is not like the other" music*

Major capitals, OK. London is the capital of England. Paris is the capital of France. And New York is the capital of... uh, wait a minute. Yeah. New York is the capital of nothing. The capital of the United States is Washington. The capital of New York is Albany. Morons. Journalists should know this shit.

Hope the weather's decent Tuesday. I've got a shitload of stuff to get done this weekend, and I already know that it's not gonna happen tomorrow, 'cause it's supposed to be crappy out and 'cause I have things I need to get done at home, anyway.

I'm kinda bored right now.

I don't quite feel like leaving the computer, though. I could go watch TV or something, but eh.

I should be working on my novel.

Nobody's on AIM.

Cashmere sweaters are a great thing. They're thin and light and breathable, but they're warm, too. I gotta go clothes shopping again one of these days. Of course, the way my finances are going, that'll be in about April.

Huzzah, finally got my pet healed... now I can battle some more, at least until the damn thing gets sick again.
