I've created a monster
Nov. 28th, 2003 12:07 amHuzzah, the mini-AIM does work at work. However, it made me realize that Beth is way smarter than I am -- faced with the possibility of a short, slow day, I did nothing, but Beth brought up that hey, what about a book? Dammit, I should've taken a book to work so I'd be prepared in case it was slow. As it is, I was done with all of my pages at 8:30. I did maybe a half-hour worth of random busywork to catch up on junk I needed to do. Other than that, I did nothing but look at stuff online and chat with Beth and just generally stare at the walls until 11:30ish. Yes, I screwed off for 2 1/2 hours and got paid for it. Trust me, it's not half as fun as it sounds.
In other news, I'm home now, and I have more leftovers in front of me, but apparently, I've created a monster. See, I was feeding the kitten turkey before I went to work, after he cleaned up all of the tiny scraps that had fallen on the floor. Now, I came home and opened the fridge, and he was right there, first poking his head into the fridge, then standing up on his back feet and reaching for my hand, hoping I had some turkey for him in it. He followed me around for ten minutes, meowing and getting up on his back feet, begging.
I almost didn't give in, too. I was doing well until he stood up really, really well -- I'm trying to train him to do it on command, 'cause he actually goes beyond sitting up to a full stand on two legs, like a person, and it's cute. So I gave him a little turkey. :)
