Still employed
Aug. 9th, 2003 01:08 amHad my annual review today.
Despite my worst fears, I didn't get fired, though it certainly wasn't the glowing review I got last year. Then again, I wasn't expecting it to be. Last year, things were smooth and I was happy. This year, things are in a state of upheaval, I feel more and more like my bosses have up and decided that I'm stupid and untrustworthy, and I'm obviously less than happy, though I've recovered from that period of utter unhappiness and hatred of my job I had a few months back.
But another year goes by, and I got my token raise, and I'm still here. They even said a few nice things, 'cause no matter how much they might secretly want me to just go away, they can't ignore that I still do my job with a good measure of proficiency.
I suppose I should be happy, but instead, I'm just relieved.
